THE PROFILE: KISS DANIEL



Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel, popularly known as Kiss Daniel, is a Nigerian afro pop, recording artist, performer and entertainer best known for his chart-topping single "Woju". He is currently signed to G-Worldwide Entertainment. He was Born: May 1, 1994 (age 22).

Kiss Daniel was born  in Ogun state, Nigeria. He hails from Abeokuta North local government area. He graduated from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering). While in University, he decided to pursue music as a career alongside his studies.
Kiss Daniel showed an interest in music from an early age, and was encouraged by his father.He started his music career professionally 2013 after his tertiary education, when he came across G-Worldwide Entertainment CEO, Emperor Geezy. After being signed to G-Worldwide entertainment, he released his first official single "Shoye" which was produced by Beatburx on May 1, 2014, along with a music video was directed by MEX. Daniel released his second single "Woju", produced by Dj Coublon on September 1, 2014. The video for Woju was directed by Adasa Cookey, shot in Lagos, Nigeria. The song spent eleven weeks on the MTV base Official Naija Top Ten, including six weeks at the number one spot.


Daniel then recorded and released a remix of "Woju" featuring  Tiwa Savage and Davido. "Woju" and its remix peaked at Number 1 and Number 2 respectively on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10, the first time that an original song and its remix would peak at the first and second positions on the chart. A cover of the song performed by veteran music icon 2face Idibia soon appeared online.


In May 2015, Daniel released a third follow up single "Laye" on his birthday, along with a video two weeks later which was shot in different locations in eastern part of Africa and was directed by AJE FILMS.In September 2015, Daniel won two awards within the space of three weeks.

The rave of the moment; Kiss Daniel’s debut album “New Era” has made it debut at number 8 on the Billboard World Album Charts. The only two other Nigerian albums that have made the World Album Charts entered and peaked at #12 (2face Idibia’s Ascension and Reminisce’s Baba Hafusa).

With his latest single and video; 'Mama' already topping charts and gaining numerous positive reviews, Kiss Daniel surely has proven beyond doubt that he is arguably one of Nigeria's most gifted music talents.

THE PROFILE: SEYI SHAY

Seyi Shay
Deborah Oluwaseyi Joshua popularly know as "seyi shay"  was born 21st of December 1985 in London England. Shay was born and raised in London,  Her mother was from Northern nigeria and her father is a native of  ife. She has two elder brothers and an older sister. She and her siblings were raised by their single mother.

This beautiful lady is a Nigerian-based English singer-songwriter, recording artist, performer, and record producer. Shay started performing at the age of 6, and was part of her secondary school choir. She performed for the London Community gospel choir during their world tour, which included 13 cities in Japan. Shay was applauded for her performances in Japan. She studied music at a local UK college, and went on to study Business Management at the University of east london.


Her music career took an upswing when she signed her first ever record deal with No Apology, a record company affiliated with George Martin (commonly referred to as the "Fifth beatle").
Shay was introduced to Sound sultan during his visit to London in 2011. After listening to some of her demos, Sultan convinced her to relocate to Nigeria and pursue her musical career there. During a project with  Sound sultan in the UK, Shay was introduced to Cecil Hammond of Flytime Promotions. Hammond signed Shay to his record label (Flytime Music) and decided to launch her solo career in Nigeria. In 2013, Shay departed the record label. 

Although her musical style is primarily a combination of Afropop and R&B, Shay doesn't conform to a particular genre of music. She believes that her musical prowess spans different genres. She also said that her music draws from things that inspire her. Shay has cited her mother, Mathew Knowles, 2face idibia, Beyonce, TinaTurner, 
Sound sultan, Wizkid, and Omawunmi as mentors.

The afropop and R&B singer has performed a lot of songs like right now, jangilover, irawo, crazy,ragaraga, murder, loving your way, killing me softly, no vacany, chairman, loud, Mary, Tina, pack and go amongst others.
Sheyi shay adds to her credit with awards and nominations like the headies *best vocal performance*, World music awards *world's best female artist* and *world best entertainer of the year*, City people entertainment award in the category of *best musician of the year (female)* which she won in 2013. She was also nominated for *best female and video of the year* at the 2015 MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) and so on.... 

Here are notable performances by her;
Shay performed at the 2013 COSON song awards.In July 2013, she performed at one of Big Brother Africa's live eviction shows. On 20 July 2013, she performed in Asaba for the 2013 edition of Star Music Trek. On 27 September 2013, Shay graced the stage at the Sisters with Soul concert, which was headlined by  Mary J. Blige. On 20 November 2013, she performed "Bad" with Wale at the Johnnie  Walker Step Up to VIP Lifestyle Launch event (held at the Oriental Hot Victoria island, Lagos). Shay was a supporting act on the 2013 Hennessy Artistry 2013 Club. In December 2013, she performed at the Harp Rhythm Unplugged concert. On 15 February 2014, Shay performed at Darey's Love Like A Movie Concert alongside Kelly Rowland, D'banj, Tiwa Savage, Mo' Eazy, Zaina, Timi dakolo,  Waje , Muna, JJC and Eva Alordiah, among others. 


Towards the tail end of 2015, Seyi Shay released her debut studio album 'SEYI OR SHAY' which had hit tracks such as Higher, Jangilova, Right Now Remix ft Banky W and Iyanya, Pack and Go ft Olamide, among others. This year 2016, Seyi Shay earned 3 NEA Nominations for Best R & B Artist, Best Music Video, Best Album, this is wishing her the best of luck with her nominations and her career.

THE PROFILE: YEMI ALADE


YEMI ALADE

Yemi Eberechi Alade was born on March 13, 1989 in Abia State, Nigeria. YEMI ALADE is referred to as a "Yoruba-Igbo girl" since her father, James Alade, is of Yoruba origin, while her mother, Helen Uzoma, is of Igbo origin. Alade is the fifth out of the seven children in her family. She attended St Saviour British Primary School, and then went on to Victory Grammar School in Lagos before obtaining a degree in Geography at the University of Lagos

She made her musical debut in an all-girl group called Noty Spices in 2005, but her music became widely popular after she won the Peak Talent Show in 2009. She later released her first single "Fimisile" under the Jus' Kiddin' label. 


In 2012, she signed onto the music label, called Effyzzie Music Group, and released her single "Ghen Ghen Love".
In July 2013, Yemi Alade released the video for her romantic afro-R&B song "Bamboo", produced by Fliptyce. "Bamboo" went on to be a moderate hit and a popular wedding song. In the last quarter of 2013.



She then broke records when her most recent hit single, "Johnny", produced by Selebobo, was leaked on the internet. The song became an international smash hit as it dominated music charts in Tanzania, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the United Kingdom, among others. It has been listed as one of the best songs of 2013, despite the fact that it was released towards the end of the year and without a music video.


Yemi Alade has been featured on the covers of several magazines and performed around the world, sharing the stage and songs with Mary J. Blige, Shina Peters, M.I, Wizkid, Becca, May D, Waje and Yemi Sax. She also headlined the Super Diva’s Nite at the 2013 Calabar Festival, and opened for the 2013 Headies Awards (popularly referred to as the "Nigerian Grammys").


In 2014, Alade was featured on Yung6ix’s track "Lights", as well as on a remix of "Sebiwo" by Beninese afropop star Lace. Alade teamed up with award-winning cinematographer Clarence Peters to create a music video for "Johnny", which was released in March 2014 to critical acclaim and now has more than 32 million views on YouTube, as of December 2015.


Alade joined M.I, Waje, Timi Dakolo, and Burna Boy in singing the theme song for Port Harcourt, the UNESCO 2014 World Book Capital, as part of a project urging young people to read and stay in school. Shortly after that, Alade released a new single entitled "Tangerine", featuring Selebobo; the critically acclaimed track charted across Africa. She appeared as a guest artist on Falz’s debut album.


She released her debut album, King of Queens, on 2 October 2014, and then went on tour. And now her second album as been released titled MAMA AFRICA.


Yemi Alade has decided to focus on Africa as a whole with her sophomore album titled Mama Africa (The Diary of an African Woman) – Yemi Alade which was released on March 26 2016. The album features several African heavyweight artists such as P-Square from Nigeria, Flavour from Nigeria, Sarkodie from Ghana, Sauti Sol from Kenya, DJ Arafat from Ivory coast and a few more.
