Nollywood actor and singer, Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia,
has expressed his sadness at the present state of the movie industry,
saying it has fallen, and surely it would rise again.
Nkem, who is popular in the movie world for his comic relief in
movies, revealed more on the problems the industry is facing and what it
would take for it to get better.
The actor, who said that all what the industry lacks is process and an enabling environment.
“How can it fall without getting up, there must be a process, what
determines the success of an industry is the environment, the enabling
environment, and if it hasn’t come to Nigeria, gradually it would come
there,” he said
He further said that “gradually it would come, the price of oil has
fallen down, doesn’t mean that Nigeria would die or not develop again
because we are so dependent in oil, so it is in the industry.”
Nkem Owoh, who is famous for the role he played in a movie titled
‘Osuofia In London’, won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor
in 2008.
